FOIA Declassification Compliance Officer

About the role

ProSidian Consulting seeks a FOIA Declassification Compliance Officer to support the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, Joint Task Force – Guantanamo Bay. The position is full‑time, based on‑site in the Caribbean region, and focuses on ensuring FOIA and declassification requests comply with applicable statutes and executive orders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct document review, apply redactions using Redact Express, and determine applicable FOIA exemptions.
• Track and manage declassification workflows, coordinate searches, and prepare briefing materials and reports.
• Provide FOIA‑specific training to action officers and support the development of action plans for new cases.
• Maintain quality‑assurance reviews, coordinate responses across directorates, and ensure timely submission of FOIA responses.

Required profile

• Minimum three years experience processing FOIA requests and performing redactions in a DoD or federal environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top‑Secret security clearance.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently with multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Redact Express or similar redaction tools.
• Microsoft Office Suite and SAFE system familiarity.
• Knowledge of EO 13392, EO 13526, and Title 5 U.S.C. § 552 FOIA regulations.
