FOIA Compliance & Litigation Specialist

About the role

ProSidian Consulting seeks a FOIA Compliance & Litigation Specialist to provide Freedom of Information Act administration support for the Joint Task Force – Guantanamo Bay. The role is full‑time, based onsite at GTMO, and serves the Department of the Army’s Office of the Staff Judge Advocate.

Key responsibilities

• Process FOIA requests, conduct legal reviews, apply exemptions, and provide litigation support.
• Draft indexes, declarations, and official responses while ensuring compliance with EO 13392, EO 13526, and Title 5 U.S.C. § 552.
• Perform initial FOIA request reviews, coordinate document searches, and apply redactions using Redact Express.
• Provide FOIA‑specific training to action officers and develop action plans for new cases.
• Maintain accurate case tracking in the FOIA request management system and produce quality‑assurance reviews.
• Communicate with external organizations and higher headquarters on FOIA matters.

Required profile

• Experience in the DOD/Military sector with functional and technical FOIA expertise.
• Prior knowledge of FOIA processing, exemption application, and litigation support.
• Ability to work collaboratively with JTF‑GTMO directorates and the FOIA Program Manager.

• FOIA request management tracking system.
