About the role

The Resident Coordinator System in Cuba seeks a proactive Assistant to support the Community Manager in strengthening the United Nations System's communication on social media. The role is home‑based and focuses on promoting UN priorities, sustainable development initiatives, and inter‑agency collaboration to strategic audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a monthly social‑media publishing plan aligned with global UN priorities and specific Cuban context.
• Propose, create and schedule multimedia content (text, video, infographics) for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, delivering at least two posts daily.
• Publish weekly website notes highlighting agency projects, inter‑agency initiatives and sustainable‑development outcomes.
• Monitor social‑media performance, analyse audience growth, and recommend actions to increase reach and engagement.
• Report audience interactions, flag potentially offensive or reputational‑risk messages, and support advocacy actions.
• Assist the UN Cuba communicator in covering high‑volume events, preparing interviews, reports and website updates.
• Identify and utilise UN resources (documents, visual assets, web content) for content creation.

Required profile

• Works under the strategic guidance of the Office Head and direct supervision of the OCR Communicator.
• Demonstrates familiarity with UN communication objectives and sustainable‑development agendas.

Required skills

• Proficiency with social‑media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram.
• Multimedia content creation (videos, infographics, graphics).
• Website content management and publishing.
